So many young players wanted to play for Letham. Of course they were encouraged as we realised years before that to be successful you had to get the best young talent in the door.
Ken Drummond and at time Alex Whytock took training sessions for this age group. However Ken was still building his career with the Shell distributor and building up his business as Main collector for Littlewoods Pools that he had very little spare time. On top of that he was now a family man with a young lad who was only just over a year old. We had created our name for these young teams which was Mini-Minors but as usual we were copied so later we called this team Letham Imps.
Roselea Mini Minors match against Stanley/Murthly Mini Minors game was postponed. It is hoped these young teams along with Letham and Tayside will play matches against each other.
Letham did play Stanley at Stanley on the then Recreation Ground on the Airntully Road. Ken Drummond was referee. Regrettably a fight took place between a Letham youngster and a young lad Lennon from Stanley. In normal circumstances they both would have been sent off. He allowed the game however to continue after chewing their ears off. I think the game ended in a not to friendly draw.
No record of any further matches this season. Ken had bought white tee shirts for the team.
