Because of our desire to expand the club we decided that we would encourage boys of under 16 years of age to come and train and become part of the Letham Club despite the fact that there was no organised League or Association currently in being.
Bill Hebner and Ken Drummond had both played for the Boys Club Minors many years prior.
In order to bring competition and assess the boys, Ally McAdam and Ken Drummond came to an agreement with Jock Scotland, Convenor of football for the Boys Brigade, who resided in James Street, that Letham Minors would play the odd company out in the then strong Boys Brigade league.
Letham paid match costs, which were minimal. We also made a small financial contribution to the funds of the Brigade.
