Manager ???
Committee ???
As there was no organised league for our Minors we continued to encourage young players to come and train with our City Boys and Juveniles. We now had a reputation as being a good club to join and that the boys would learn good practices and receive coaching by trained and enthusiastic trainers. We very much wanted to create a family atmosphere with the youngsters wanting to play for our older teams and likewise the older boys encouraging them. We did mix the teams together so that there was no differential or superiority- simply I am a Letham player. We encouraged all our players to believe they were superior. It did not all ways work when a team was not so successful but never the less, the boys were told that if we were beaten badly that " every doggie would have its day ".
Stan was a quiet but very talented young player. He was one of a crop of schoolboys from St Johns that were filtering through the club. His teacher- Frank Gloak was the Scottish scout for the English Club. The manager at the time was Arthur Rowley a very famous centre-forward. Because we were not in an organised league set up, regretfully we did not receive any compensation. Ron McClelland a former player was posted by the GA to Shrewsbury prior to a move to London and kept us informed of his progress. Stan Lewry therefore was the very first player from our Minor team to go Senior.

In the Boys Club notes: The section leader Peter Adams ex Kinnoull Juniors, has arranged a special match against a Letham team for his junior section.
Ken Drummond who knew Pete Adams went to see him and confirmed the arrangements made with the Boys Club last season that we would continue with friendly matches. The reason being that we had so many youngsters that we needed matches so they could be assessed.
