After last season we again have to start with a comparative new team. So many of our young stars again moved on and upward. We are indeed fortunate that our City Boy team was finding new talent.
Kenny Barclay had gone to Kinnoull Juniors, John Binnie although signed by Hibernian was farmed out to Jeanfield Swifts. Ally Campbell also signed for Jeanfield Swifts.Dusty Moir signed junior with Blairgowrie.

Wednesday, 18th, August,1965 V Coupar Angus ( League-Away)
At Larghan Park the locals have the attractive Letham Juveniles as visitors. The visitors have lost 2 or 3 stars but are quite capable of springing a surprise. However I take the home boys to get both points.
Another good result for Letham Juveniles who travelled to Coupar Angus and picked up both points. This looks promising for K Drummonds boys despite the loss of last year’s stars
Saturday, 21st, August,1965 V Pitfour ( League-Away )
Letham Juveniles travel to Glencarse to meet Pitfour and this should be a grand encounter. The visitors play nice football, while the locals are more direct, with Andy Laing again striking scoring form. I take the home side to get the points.
On the South Inch the meeting of Royals and Letham should produce a keen contest. Letham beat the more fancied Coupar Angus at Coupar but was nullified by the defeat from Pitfour and tonights “derby” could go either way. The Royals fell to Pitfour by the odd goal. On that form it looks like a treble chance.

Saturday, 4th, September,1965 V Royal United ( League-Home )
The return fixture between Letham and Royal United should produce a grand tussle. Experience showed at the last meeting when the Royals got through by the odd goal. It is on the cards today that it will again be the factor in a close result.
Letham Juveniles had sweet revenge over Royals, but they were certainly lucky. Both sides missed scoring chances otherwise the goal tally would have been higher. This is the Royals fourth defeat by the odd goal.

Letham have the Glencarse boys on the Inch and this should be a grand tussle. The home side can play attractive football but against A Laing’s side, I am afraid it will be of no avail. I take Pitfour the more experienced side to go in to the next round.
The Juveniles found the more experienced Glencarse too much to hold.
Saturday, 25th, October,1965 V Scone Thistle ( League-away )

The disappointing Saints have the young Juveniles as visitors to the North Inch and if they are to find their form soon they have a grand chance of doing it today. The homesters look the more experienced lot, while the visitors are meantime finding their feet but they can be dangerous as they play plenty of first class football and are capable of springing a surprise. I take Saints to get back on the winning pitch.
St Johns have again got back to winning form and fully deserved the verdict over Letham

Up and coming Craigie meet Letham and this should be an interesting dual. The home side have greater experience but the Letham boy’s football may just tip the scales. Taking sides with Kenny Drummond’s boys, I expect them to gain the verdict.
Craigie Juveniles 1 Letham 4
The Letham boys had a good win, playing the most attractive football. Craigie did a great amount of pressing but as to shooting they were hopeless. Shots from 20to 25 yards were the order of the day and this was easy meat for the Letham keeper. In the 69th. Minute Murray of Craigie was ordered off the field of play. McClelland of Letham was booked.

Ally Campbell now with Jeanfield Swifts signs senior forms with Dundee United. He now becomes the fourth Letham player to go senior behind McRorie, Marshall and Binnie. Little wonder that Letham had a reputation not only for playing grand football ( coining Peter Reid’s phrase ) but also as the team to join if a young player had aspirations to better himself.
Saturday, 8th, January,1966 V RN Anchorage ( 2nd. RD. Lindsay Cup-Home )
The Juveniles have had a bad patch recently and unless they strike form I cannot see them toppling Davie Colman’s boys.
Letham Juveniles playing grand football had a big win against RN Anchorage who paid the penalty for some slack passing.
Saturday, 15th, January,1966 V Scone Thistle ( 2nd. RD. Bissett & Stewart Cup_Home)
The attractive Thistle face up to the Juveniles who had a grand win last week. Both sides play grand football and this tie should be worth seeing. The visitors are the more experienced team and this ought to see them make the semi-final.
Scone Thistle had an easy passage into the semi-final against the Juveniles, who lost their keeper in the first half. At that stage however the writing was on the wall for them as Thistle were holding a 4-0 lead. Derek Robertson the Thistle top scorer had a nap hand.
It is with regret that we learn that Ken Drummond of Letham Juveniles has given up his position with the club and the Perthshire Association due to the nature of his employment. He will certainly be missed for his advice. Taking his place is former juveniles player Ronnie Rattray of Royals. The Juveniles are lucky to have Ronnie on hand and his experience should not be long in showing. This appeared to be a good idea at the time as Ronnie’s son was playing full back for the team and Ron was a good attendee at our matches.
Ken was still President of Letham and only gave up the position of Team Manager. The change was necessary as Ken worked on Saturday’s as a Main Collector for Littlewoods Pools as well as being a manager with the Shell Distributor in Feus Road. The club was still developing and along with Bill Hebner and Ally McAdam this growth was assured.

Saturday, 29th, January,1966 v St Johns ( 1st. Rd. Cunningham Cup-Away )
The meeting of Saints and the Juveniles on the North inch should be a grand tussle, with plenty of good football. The result could go either way but ground advantage may see the Saints make the second round.
The meeting of Saints and Letham was transferred to the South Inch where the Juvenile’s wingers were in top form with their swift running and positional sense, which at times left the Saints defence floundering. The Juveniles finished good winners but the Saint's inside forward trio must shoulder the blame for this defeat for some appalling misses in front of goal.

Roselea who meet Letham may be without four of their regulars unless last minute arrangements can be made and this coupled with Marnoch and Gunnion being unable to play on Saturday’s puts Willie Cameron’s side in a perilous way for this tie. If his four regulars manage to play, I take them to get through. Otherwise it looks odds on the Juveniles.
Roselea struck winning form to get both points at the expense of Letham Juveniles, which should put them in good spirits for their Scottish Tie at Aberdeen on Saturday. G Brown of Letham was booked.

Saturday, 12th, March,1966 v Roselea ( 1st. Rd. Cunningham Cup-Away )
Roselea have Letham as visitors and look good for the second round. Letham are in the doldrums at present while the ‘Lea are displaying great form and should not be put to any bother to meet Vale of Earn in the next round.
Roselea beat tip tap Letham by two clear goals but their form in this game wont do if they are to worry the Scone side this week. The ‘Lea were too easy in their movements against a side who played with only 10 men for most of the game.
Saturday, 19th, March,1966 V Craigie (League-Away )
Craigie travel to meet Letham and this should be a great game. The South Inch Juveniles have struck rock bottom form and will be all out to stage a revival. Craigie’s form is also up and down. This looks a good draw with odds on the Letham side getting through.

Royal United 4 Letham 1
Well-played Royals who were full value for their win over Letham. The Juveniles played some good football at times but their close passing was easy meat for the Royals defence. Caution noted against G Brown- Letham
Owing to financial difficulties Royal United have been forced to pack in for the season. Secretary Morrison informed the Association secretary of the position late on Thursday evening and a letter of confirmation will follow.
We had great sympathy with Wattie Morrison as he had suffered even more than Letham at the hands of the Junior Clubs and it was difficult to get replacement players. One of the reasons we started a youth policy through our City Boys and Minor Teams. Moves were afoot for us to try and get Wattie to Letham as we felt that his enthusiasm alone would be of benefit. Not only that, but as he had aspirations to do well at the Scottish level we believed that as a club Letham had also aspirations that it’s members should attain high office be it at local level or at National level. Ken Drummond and Bill Hebner went to see Wattie at his home in Castle View, Letham and convinced him that he should join us. This he agreed to do. We could not at this stage remove Ronnie Rattray, as he had done nothing wrong albeit the performance of the team was below expectations. Wattie only represented the club at this stage.

Saturday, 23rd, April,1966 V Letham Rovers ( Semi-Final replay-Lindsay Cup- Home )
The replay between the Letham clubs should produce a grand game with plenty of good football. Injuries are hitting the Rovers so it will be a last minute selection. The Juveniles have returned to something like their old form and could just make the final
The replay between the Letham sides ended in a grand win for the Rovers by two goals and it could easily have been more had the Huntingtower boys taken all their chances
R Wilmoth ordered off and fined £2.00. It was with regret that Raymond was the first ever Letham Juvenile player to be ordered from the field of play . In retrospect it was a compliment to the management that the club had been in existence for five seasons and had a strict behaviour code.

Saturday, 28th, May,1966 v Pitfour ( Final-Cunningham Cup- South Inch )
The go-ahead Glencarse side were never stretched to retain the trophy. Letham played good football to the 18-yard line then flopped. Their defence must accept most of the blame for the defeat as they were clearly at fault with at least for of the goals. Mr W Clark, a St Johnstone, director who was introduced to the teams before the start handed over the trophy to the winning captain A Laing.
