Tuesday,16th, August,1966 V Scone Thistle ( League-Away )
Saturday,20th, August,1966 V Roselea ) league-Home )
The game of the day should be the meeting of Letham and Roselea on Pitch 4. The Juveniles opened with a win over Scone and look to be in grand form but Willie Cameron’s boys are full of confidence for the new season and forced a draw with Errol Juniors. Ground advantage is of no account here and the result is wide open with both sides welcoming a point each
Roselea beat Letham by the odd goal and look good for some honours this season
Saturday,27th, August,1966 V Letham Rovers ( League-Away )
The Letham “ derby” at Huntingtower looks the outstanding fixture of the day with the result liable to go either way. Ground advantage may tell in the end.
In the Letham derby the Juveniles were clearly the better side and fully deserved both points.

Saturday, 1st, October,1966 V Vale of Earn ( League-Home )
Ronald Rattray’s boys have a visit from the attractive Crieff side and this should produce plenty of good football. The Juveniles are quite capable of getting both points but form suggests that Vale will at least share the honours.
Team- Gordon, Rattray, O’Brien, Yeaman, Malcolm, Lennon forwards from- Willmoth, Crosbie, Scott, Zieba, Herman, Watkins.
Letham 0 Vale of Earn 3
The Letham boys put up quite a good show against the strong Vale of Earn who finished good winners
Saturday, 8th, October,1966 V St Johns ( 1st. Rd. Scottish Cup- Home )
The meeting of Letham and St Johns looks likely to produce plenty of ball play. Both sides have not yet a settled pattern and the result could go either way. This looks a good treble chance.

Saturday, 19th, November,1966 V Craigie ( League-Home )
The meeting of the Juveniles on pitch 8 should be a hard match. Craigie has been a little unlucky these past few weeks with odd goal defeats. They are certainly a go ahead side with plenty of spirit, but their missed chances have cost them dearly. The home side are having a poor season so far. So it looks as if today’s derby result will go to the forward line that takes their chances. I take Craigie to come out on top

The Juveniles and PYC shared the points but the visitors must be kicking themselves for not getting both. In the second half they were through three times with only the keeper standing in their way yet missed three glorious chances when leading 2-0.The Juveniles played attractive football but were also poor finishers.

Saturday, 14th, January,1967 V Craigie ( 1st. Rd. Cunningham Cup-Away )
The meeting of Craigie and Letham promises to be a hard tussle. Their previous clash in the league ended in a 4-4 draw and if today’s tie is on the same lines it should be a fixture worth seeing. The Letham boys are at present hitting the high spots, but Craigie are not easily brushed aside and if hitting form could upset the more attractive side. This tie may require another meeting.
Team- Duncan, Rattray, Gordon, O’Brien, McPhee, Herd, Lennon, A.N. Other, Crosbie, Welsh, Malcolm, Scott, Watkins.
Craigie 2 Letham 1
The Letham derby ended in favour of Craigie who always looked the more dangerous. The visitors no doubt missed their regular outside right whose speed would have made all the difference up front, but all credit to the Craigie boys for a real all out effort.
Craigie 2 Letham 2
Peter Reid regrettably got it wrong for the score in this match was in fact a draw.

Letham travel to Pitcairngreen to meet Bridgeton United who already holds a decision over the Perth side.Letham will have to pull out their best form to get the verdict. The home side will be crossing their fingers they can manage to field a full side compared with only nine players last week when they put up a great struggle at Glencarse. The visitors are a grand football team and should get into the next round

A protest by Letham against Comrie Rovers was upheld and Letham awarded the points. Comrie have lodged an appeal with the Scottish Juvenile FA.
Saturday, 28th, January,1967 V Vale of Earn ( 1st. Rd. Dewar Shield-Home )
On No. 2 pitch the day’s best encounter looks to be between Letham and the Crieff side. The home boys are playing grand football at present but they will find the visitors are the more experienced lot and will be hard put to get through on the heavy ground as Vale are by far the heavier team. Providing play their own game as of late they are in with a great chance of making the second round, but it may require a replay.

Craigie 1 Letham 3
Letham finished good winners in the replay against Craigie. Letham took their three chances in the first half and held on to win. The Craigie forwards missed three glorious chances in the first half and could easily have been level. Craigie pressed for 35 minutes in the second half but failed when inside the 18-yard line. They did find the net once and only grand goalkeeping by the Letham keeper kept them at bay.
Wednesday, 8th, February,1967
Bobby Brown, the St Johnstone manager appointed the new Scotland manager. We had a good relationship with Bobby Brown. When we shook hands then it was a gentleman’s agreement. Saturday, 4th, March,1967 V Vale of Earn ( League-Away )
Letham are at Crieff and this should be a grand encounter. The home boys dropped a point last week and will be all out to redeem themselves. The Juveniles are at present runners up in the league and cannot afford to drop any points.
Team- Duncan, Rattray, O’Brien, Malcolm, Herd, Lennon forwards from- A.N.Other, Crosbie, Herman, Newman, Welsh, McPhee and Watkins.

The result of the day was the great win by Letham at Crieff, which certainly keeps them in the running for the championship. To beat the locals without two of their star performers was a fine performance

Saturday, 11th, March,1967 V Scone Thistle ( 2nd. Rd. Cunningham Cup-Away )
The inform Juveniles travel to Scone and this should finish with a close result. The visitors despite being without two of the full side had a great win at Crieff so the home boys will know what they are up against. The Juveniles have lost Sandy Malcolm to Perth Celtic and hope to be able to field a good replacement. Thistle is a hard team to beat on their own ground and are more experienced. This could see them through, but I take this tie to end all square. Should this mean a replay, this will take place next week on the South Inch cancelling their league fixtures in this event.
Team- Saint, Rattray, O’Brien,McPhee, Herd, Lennon forwards from- Willmoth, Crosbie, Duncan, Newman, Herman, and Watkins
Scone Thistle 2 Letham 1
Scone made the semi-finals and can consider themselves lucky. The Juveniles fielded their new keeper Saint but played all the game with only 10 men and were most unfortunate to go down. The home side scored the winner near time up
How the junior teams endeared themselves to us by taking our players near the end of the season whilst we had the opportunity of winning the league or more likely a cup. Alas there was nothing in the rules to prevent this and we had to rely on the player being fair to his team-mates and the club. We found to our cost that finding honour among players and between junior clubs and ourselves were virtually non-existent.

PYC 5 Letham 2
Well played PYC who had their second win of the season by beating league leaders Letham. This is a bad blow to Ronnie Rattray’s boys who on present form looked the better bet but it was just one of those days when they took the home side too cheaply.
