Manager Mr W Morrison
Secretary Mr J Duncan (until 28/02/69)
Mr W Morrison (from 01/03/69)
President K Drummond
Treasurer W Hebner
It was decided that we would operate a 200 club called The Tangerine Club. Because of Ken Drummond’s involvement with Littlewood’s Pools, Wattie Morrison was made promoter. It was a weekly draw and the cost was 0.25 pence per member or 2/6 as it was at that time .A commission was paid to the collectors, which I believe was 12 and 1/2 %. A letter was delivered to the households in Letham asking people to join and stating that we needed help for today in order to assist yesterday’s people in advancing to-morrows youngsters. This proved to be very successful. So successful that before the coming Christmas we had completed another section of 200 and that we were well on the way to have 1000 members. Extract of our accounts prepared by Bill Hebner at that time shows that the club was showing a very healthy income and that we no longer had to depend on the generosity of certain officials. Officials it must be said were not wealthy and most were not long married and starting families so surplus cash was not readily available regardless of the ambitions of the committee.

St Johnstone have signed teenage right back Bill Beatson from local side Letham Juveniles. Beatson put pen to paper at Muirton Park on Wednesday night after a meeting with manager Willie Ormond. 18 year old Beatson of 127, Craigie Road, Perth who has just left Perth High School also attracted interest from Rangers and Liverpool and in July completed a weeks training with Manchester United. He was due to return there later this year. -This time for a month.
Saturday,31st, August,1968 V Perth Youth Centre ( League Cup-Home )
Letham have lost a few stars to the Seniors and Juniors and it looks as if they again have to start from scratch. They will be hard put to get both points from PYC. This game could end all square.
Team from- Peggie, Mitchell, McPherson, Newman, Tainsh, Hamilton, Duncan, Whytock, Joyce, McLaren, O’ Donnell, Carle, Watkins and Forret
Letham finished good winners in their tussle with PYC although the visitors had every chance to get on level terms all during the game, even missing from the spot. All credit to keeper Peggie who brought off a great save.

Saturday, 14th, September,1968 V Vale of Earn ( League Cup- Away )
The tie of the day is surely the duel between Vale of Earn and Letham at Market Park, Crieff. The local boys are certainly the more experienced side and should get the better of Letham’s young lads who are full of running and grand football and can upset the best of teams. I take the Vale to get both points but only if they take their chances as the young side from Perth have a dangerous forward line, quick to take advantage of defensive lapses.
Team from- Peggie, Mitchell, Tainsh, Hamilton, McPherson, Joyce, Forret, McLaren, O’Donnell, Carle, Duncan, Forrester, Watkins and Newman.
Vale of Earn 5 Letham 2
Letham travelled to market Park and returned pointless. The attractive Vale were in top form and there will not be many teams who topple them either home or away.

Saturday,23rd, November,1968 V vale of Earn ( League Cup- Home )
The fixture of the day must surely be on No. 8 pitch where Letham meet the powerful Vale from Crieff. The home side have not played since 19th, October so while they should be fresh for this hard encounter they will also be rusty and will require time to settle down.It is noticeable their last game was also against Vale when they suffered defeat for the second time from the visitors.Todays tie is bound to be an all out affair as the visitors require only a point to win the section. It should be a close result, with the experienced Vale just having the edge.
Team from- Newman, Mitchell, Mackinnon, Tainsh, Hamilton, McPherson, Lennon, Joyce, McLaren, O’Donnell, Carle, Whytock, Duncan, Forret.
Letham 3 Vale of Earn 1
Letham deserved this great victory over Vale of Earn, which not only gave them sweet revenge but also made them winners of their section. Make no mistake, they certainly were the more attractive football side throughout. The Vale forwards must accept most of the blame for their defeat for in the first half they missed three easy scoring chances before the home side settled down and they had luck in their favour when Letham missed from the spot. A draw at half-time was a pretty fair result. The visitors started the second-half as if they were really starting to go to town, but all their strength and experience did not upset the home boys who still played grand football and were unlucky not to score more. Vale’s attempts to find the net were just too bad.
Secretary Duncan of Letham please note that Pitch 8 will be booked for their Scottish Cup Tie against Tannochside Miners Welfare on 14th, December,1968
Saturday,30th, November,1968 V Scone Thistle ( League-Home )

Letham 2 Scone Thistle 5
Scone Thistle sprung a surprise when they hit l3etham with a nap hand. Reports say the game was pretty even until the last half hour when the visitors really took over.
Hamilton of Letham and Crosbie of Scone Thistle were booked.

Saturday, 7th, December,1968 V Scone Thistle ( 1st. Leg. Semi-Final League Cup- Home )
Letham well beaten by Thistle last week will be all out for revenge and the Scone side with all t5he confidence required will be determined to come out on top again.I will be surprised if Thistle do go through by the same margin. I have a feeling this leg will finish all-square.
Team from- Peggie, Mackinnon, Tainsh, Hamilton, McPherson, Lennon, Joyce, Whytock, McLaren, Duncan, Carle, O’Donnell, Watkins, Forret, Mitchell.
Letham 1 Scone Thistle 2
Letham went under to Thistle for the second week running and also missed from the spot, keeper Ross making a grand save. This was another good performance from the Scone side who were again forced to play under strength. Over the whole game Letham were unlucky not to share the points.
Saturday,14th, December,1968 V Tannochside Miners Welfare ( 3rd. Rd. Scottish Cup-Home )
As nothing is known regarding form we can only wish Letham the best of luck.
Team from- Peggie, Mitchell, Tainsh, Hamilton, McPherson, Mackinnon, Lennon, Whytock, Joyce, McLaren, Duncan, Carle, O’Donnell, Watkins, Forret.
Letham 1 Tannochside Miners Welfare 2
Hard luck on Letham. Forced to field an under strength team against a tough Lanarkshire side. They went under by another odd goal decision. The home side should at least have had a replay. A great shot by McLaren had the visiting keeper well beaten only to hit the bar.
Donald Peggie capped at basketball for Scotland against Germany in Germany on 27th, December and again a member of the Scotland under 21 team in another International against England to be staged at Leeds.
Saturday,21st, December,1968 V Scone Thistle ( 2nd. Leg. Semi-Final League Cup-Away )
Scone have Letham in the second leg of the League Cup semi-final and hold a one-goal lead. The visitors have had no luck in recent fixtures and will be looking for a break today.

Auchterarder Fairmuir 2 Letham 2

Team from- Black, Mitchell, Tainsh, Hamilton, McPherson, Mackinnon, Lennon, Joyce, Whytock, McLaren, Duncan, Carle, O’Donnell, Watkins, Forret, Doherty.
RN Anchorage 4 Letham 1
RN had a well-deserved win over Letham. Dave Colman’s boys were in top form and were unlucky to lose an early goal, when after hitting the bar, the Letham centre caught up the long clearance to round the RN keeper to score an easy goal. This was the one and only time the RN rearguard was caught unawares and throughout the game more than made up for this slip. This was their best display of the season and on this cup-tie form will take a bit of beating.

Saturday 18th, January,1969 V Scone Thistle ( 2nd. Leg Semi-Final League Cup-Away)
The tie of the day looks to be at Scone when Thistle have Letham as visitors. The home side have a one-goal lead at present and with ground advantage look the best bet. The visitors had a free day last week and should benefit for today’s tussle but their form has not been all it might be. Never the less it should be a close result but I take Thistle to make the final.

At Scone, where the home side have a one-goal lead, both teams will be hoping ground conditions will allow the tie to be played. Both clubs were idle last week so they should be raring to go. This will be a great tussle and the Thistle’s lead could see them making the final against St Johns.

Letham have a large backlog of fixtures to make up having played only 2 league fixtures out of 14. The outstanding fixtures were caused mainly by ground conditions and cup-ties. The club is still in the running to pick up a piece of silverware. This amount of leeway to make up will certainly be a strain on players and officials. The side however are fully trained to play three games weekly without any fuss and will make the best of teams sit up and take notice.

Saturday,3rd, May,1969 V St Columba’s ( Quarter Final Dewar Shield- Home )
The tie between Letham and St Columba’s will be a dour struggle. The home boys form at present is just not too dependable but they are certainly capable of rising to the occasion and providing they can field a full strength side will certainly test the Saint’s defence. Both teams are well trained and will go full tilt all the time to the final whistle, plus extra time if required. It will be no surprise if a replay was required.

Wednesday, 11th, June,1969 V Scone Thistle ( Final Brotherhood Cup )
Scone Thistle 5 Letham 0
Scone Thistle scored a 5-0 win over Letham in the final of the Brotherhood Cup at Simpson Park on Wednesday night. The game was marred by the unfortunate accident to Martin Joyce, the Letham left-winger, who received a suspected broken leg early in the first half. There was no scoring at this point and the city side were playing nice football but the strength of Scone Thistle began to show and it was no surprise when they went ahead with two quick goals. In the second half Thistle were in complete command. The cup was presented to Pennycook, Thistle’s captain by our Hon. President Mr W Croll.
