          Welcome!

Welcome to Letham F.C. which is the football arm of Letham Community Sports Club. The club was founded in November 1960 and over the ensuing years has played a prominent role in the development of youth football within the community of Perth.

The season 2002/03 was the re-emergence of the club in youth football after 12 years with progress since then when the club operated with Letham Amateurs and seven youth teams.

In order to improve “pathways for player’s development” we were delighted to be appointed an official feeder club status to Preston North End F.C. early in 2006. Another development we are justly proud was in season 2007/08 was the re-establishment of girls football after a break of two seasons. Our community commitment was to establish Soccer Schools for youngsters from the ages of under six to under eights and this again has been an outstanding success.

We were delighted to receive funding to erect 2 portacabins. The first, officially opened by Sheena McDonald in memory of her husband Ricky, gives the club much needed additional changing accommodation and the second, which we opened late July 2006, will be an office, treatment room and a player's lounge/classroom. Two further metal changing rooms arrived in 2008 and mostly used by our girls teams.

In the season 2009/10 were were delighted to receive the accolade from the S.F.A. as Community Club of the Year for Scotland. This was presented to us at Hampden Park by Scottish Legend Kenny Dalgleish and the scottish manager Craig Levein. Our quality status was also recognized by Perth and Kinross council and we were presented with there P.A.C.E.S at community level.

The new season 2010/11 will no doubt bring further challenges one of which is the difficulty in finding new and replacement coaches. This regrettably has the knock on effect of reducing the number of teams we are able to operate. It is sad that whilst we have no shortage of players wanting to wear the colours, we in turn have to release them as unable to find anyone to run the team.
