Letham Community Sports Club

Letham Coaches (sponsored by Scottish Co-op Community Fund)   Can you spare a couple of hours a week to help with coaching a football team; or could you see yourself running a team of your own? In return for an hour or two of your time each week Letham will invest in developing you to coach to the highest accredited standards. We’d be particularly interested in hearing from people who would be interested in helping existing teams. Additionally our new 2005 Sky Blue’s team are looking for a Coach/Manager. Letham Amateurs (sponsored by Trev’s House of Tattoos, Saints Social Club, Alexis Rose, Howdens Joinery, DRC Contracts, Sidey) The team missed out on a last 16 place in the Scottish Cup; losing 2-1 to Stenhousemuir Community AFC. This week see’s them travel to Kinrossie for a long awaited tie to open their defence of the Ashleigh Cup

Letham 1995 (sponsored by Perthshire Flooring) After being unable to field a side against Buddies in last weeks league meeting the 95’s will be looking to bounce back in this weeks North of Tay tie at home to Cutty Sark. All support would be welcomed to this important tie at Seven Acres. KO 2.15pm on Sunday

Letham U19 Sky Blue (sponsored by Montana Restoration) In only their second game since mid December the U19’s lost 1-0 on their league visit to Dee Club. It could have been a different result altogether if the chances had been taken in the second half. No Game this week.

Letham U16 Tangerine 1999 (sponsored by John Gillespie, Hairdresser, St.John Street) The team won 2-0 in their league game against Stanley Socca. This week see’s the boys continue league duties away to Jeanfield Swifts.

Letham U15 Tangerine 2000 (sponsored by Graham & Sibbald/ Drainco (Scotland) Ltd)            Last weeks game against Luncarty did not go ahead. This week see’s the team at home to Blairgowrie with a 12.30 Kick Off. Sandy will advise arrangements          

Letham Tangerine U14 2001 (sponsored by New Today, Furniture Centre, Canal Street) Last weeks cup game away to Kirriemuir ended 3-2 in a hard fought game. This week a home game against Ferry.

Letham Tangerine 2002 (sponsored by McDonald’s, RGW Play Area Maint. Ltd., D Peebles, Electrical Contractor) Last week the team drew 1-1 away to Scone. This week a derby against Letham Sky Blue’s  

Letham Sky Blue 2002 (sponsored by MKM Building Merchants) The Sky Blues lost 3-1 to Jeanfield Swifts Blacks in the league. This week is a Letham derby Vs Letham Tangerines

Letham Tangerine 2003 (sponsored by Vending Services Ltd,) Coaching as normal tonight from 6.00p.m.

Letham White 2003 (sponsored by China, China, St. Leonards Bridge) The team is preparing for the new season when they go to eleven a side. Coaching each Wednesday at 6.00p.m.

Letham Tangerine 2004 (sponsored by Carpet Discount Store, Friarton, Perth) Coaching sessions on Tuesday evenings from 6.00p.m.

Letham 2004 White (sponsored by Tower Veterinary Centre) Coaching sessions on Tuesday evening from 6.00p.m.

Letham 2006 Tangerine (sponsored by Anonymous Donor) Arrangements are well advanced in preparation for the new season. Training Friday at 7pm and Saturday at 9.00am

Letham 2006 Sky Blue (sponsored by McDonald’s) The new team manager will be in place tomorrow for the training session at Seven Acres at 9.00am

Letham Girls U17 s (sponsored by by Alex O’Brien, Contractor. Kilmac Group, Kelly Communications) were not involved in the festival last weekend due to injuries and will not be entering this Sunday either. Training will be 6.45-8 on Monday for this week only and also Thursday 5.45-7

Letham Girls U15 (sponsored by MP & H McDonald, Plumbing & Heating) were at the festival on Sunday and suffered three defeats, they started the first game with no ref and a few decisions that lead to two questionable goals. They are in the festival this Saturday 10-12, Fiona will advise meeting time. Training Monday 6.45-8 this week only and Thursday 5.45-7

Letham Girls U13 (sponsored by Aviva) The girls have shown a vast improvement every week, this week they lost to two very tight games 2-1 and they won a game 1-0.The girls are scoring and conceding less, fantastic effort. The festival is on Sunday 10-12, Fiona will advise meeting time. Training Thursday 5.45-7

Letham Girls U13 Tangies Juniors had one of the toughest fixtures at the festival last week, lost two and drew one but the girls keep very positive and put in a brilliant effort. They are at the festival this Sunday 10-12, Kim will advise meeting time. Training Monday 5.45-7

Letham Girls U11 White (sponsored by Nawaabs Restaurant) had a fantastic games at the festival last weekend,they won a game,2 draws and one lost. This was a massive improvement for this young team,Well done girls. The festival is on this sat 12-2, Kirsten will advise meeting time. Training Monday 5.45-7 

Letham Girls U9 are training hard and looking forward to entering their own festivals in the near future. They train on a Monday night 5.45-7

Letham Tot’s Soccer School (sponsored by Struan Motors, Crieff Road) The soccer school for boys and girls in primaries one, two and three continues at 9.00a.m. on the all-weather 3G pitch at Seven Acres every Saturday. Cost is £2. Please wear boots and shin guards and bring a drink.  If arriving by car please use car park via Balgowan Road entrance. No need to pre-book.

Pay to Play

Letham in conjunction with Active Schools offer school kids in primaries four to seven an opportunity every Tuesday from 3.30 till 5.00 p.m. to play football on their new state of the art all-weather pitch at Seven Acres Park, Newhouse Road, Letham for a £1. with qualified football coaches. Best to wear boots and wear warm clothing. No need to pre-book.

Walking Football

Letham in conjunction with Live Active invite women and men to play walking football has recommenced on Friday’s between 11.15 am and 12.15 p.m. at the Letham Centre, Tweedsmuir Road, Letham. More information from Bill Ellis on 07957864289

Jack Syme

The past two weeks have been a difficult time for the footballing, and wider, community in Perthshire as they have come together to pay tribute to Jack “cafu” Syme – a former Letham Tangerine player. Jack was well known and liked throughout the City and his passing has been keenly felt by many. With his funeral taking place today all at Letham would like to extend their deepest condolences to Jack’s family & friends at this difficult time
