This is very apt in the club’s 50th year as Vale were existing members of the Perthshire Juvenile league back in 1960. Meet clubhouse at 12.30 p.m. Training continues at Seven Acres on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.30 p.m. with Jock McInnes the club’s overall fitness & preparation coach.
Letham Lads (sponsored by Moncrieffe, Princes Street) Pre-season training continues at Seven Acres on Monday and Wednesday evening from 6.30 p.m. With a management team of Cliff Wilson and Alan Ferguson along with admin assistance from Sandy the team can look forward to another successful season with home games being played at the club’s home ground. Letham Footstar Soccer School Boys and girls in primaries 1 to 7 are invited to attend sessions which take place at the club’s home ground at Seven Acres, Newhouse Road, Letham at ten a.m. and will run for two hours on Saturday’s. Letham Footstars A new coaching session for players in primary 3 born 2002 or 2003 will now take place at Seven Acres on Thursday afternoons from 5 to 6.00p.m. Please wear suitable clothes and footwear for outdoors and bring a drink.
Coaching courses A further 14 Letham coaches were put through their paces last week and obtained their SFA level 2 certificates. This now takes the number of qualified coaches at the club to over 80. This is in keeping with the standard required by the SFA Grassroots Community Club of the year to ensure that players are given the best advice and opportunity to improve their skills within a happy and safe environment. It is hoped to attract even more volunteers as it is anticipated that there will be a requirement for the club to have available 100 coaches to meet the ever increasing demand for membership by youngsters be it with new teams (anticipated 22 teams for the new season) or just attending the renowned Footstar Soccer School
Special coaching for girls

Cash for kids appeal In response to the appeal by Bayern Bru for assistance in their planned charity match the club is pleased to announce that whilst it cannot supply players because of insurance difficulties the club will support this activity.
Abseil at Dunkeld Reminder that the club still requires more volunteers to take in an abseil at Dunkeld on Saturday 7th, August. Sponsor sheets available at Seven Acres. Proceeds will go towards replacing coaching equipment. Contact Steve MacDuff.
50 year celebration The club was founded by 4 teenagers in November 1960 as Letham Juveniles. To celebrate the occasion there will be a number of events. Further details will be released later but it is hoped that many former players at the different age groups will take a note to attend the Sportsman Dinner on Friday 19th, November in the Salutation Hotel. Speakers will be Brian McGinlay, John Gahagan and Craig Brown.
