On Sunday Barrie has arranged a special coaching session as the team prepare for the start of the season. Players to meet Seven Acres at 10.30a.m. This is followed next week with a full-scale practice session with the club’s under 11 tangerine team. Players to report to Seven Acres at 6.00p.m.

The team had a good work out under match conditions last Sunday. Last night they played the club’s under 11 tangerine team. Barrie is hoping to arrange a further practice session for the weekend but will advise if successful. Otherwise coaching continues on Thursday evenings at 5.30p.m.

The team accepted a challenge from the clubs U10 tangerine team on Tuesday evening. As the older and more experienced team they did not have it all their own way. Barrie is holding the usual coaching session next Wednesday evening at 5.30p.m. as preparation for their opening fixture.

This young team at times play delightful football and this showed last week against the tangerine team. Barrie Malcolm was pleased with the team performance and all his hard work is apparent. There is no game on Sunday. Coaching next week is on Tuesday evening at 5.30p.m.

The team enjoyed their game against Strathearn Grove last week although did not attain the performance level of the week previous. On Sunday they are away to Methven. Barrie will advise arrangements. Indoor coaching takes place on Thursday evening at Goodlyburn School commencing at 7.00p.m.

The team continues to play attractive football. All credit to their opponents from Kinross who ensured that spectators were treated to an exciting game last weekend. There is no game this weekend but on the following Sunday the boys can look forward to a derby game against the tangerines.

The game against the Tangerines lived up to the usual billing with much prestige at stake. There was no doubt that the whites were much the better footballing side but lacked that little bit of power to make the difference. There is no coaching session next week.

Barrie took his white team last week to Kinross and was delighted in the manner of their play. This week Auchterarder Thistle are first time visitors to Seven Acres. A noon kick off is planned so players should report to Seven Acres at 11.30a.m.

Last week against Auchterarder Thistle, Barrie Malcolm’s father Sandy was in charge of the team. Sandy reminded the club that he signed for Letham City Boys back in the early 1960’s and that his grandson who plays for the team is following in the family footsteps of three generations playing for the Tangerines. This week is a home game against their clubmates and these encounters will attract a large partisan crowd of supporters. Players meet Seven Acres at 11.30 for a noon kick off.

For some reason the players abandoned their usual passing game and returned to kick and rush tactics much to the disbelieve of Barry, who was bitterly disappointed in their play against the Tangerines last Sunday. Final match arrangements for this Sunday when they travel to play Auchterarder are not to hand. Barrie will advise but requests assistance with transport. Barrie’s team faced a fast and tricky Methven side last week, but stuck to their task and found themselves ahead at interval. Playing some good, neat football the Whites managed to score more goals in the second half to run out comfortable winners. The team are due to play Auchterarder this weekend. The team took the opportunity when playing the Tangerine team to prepare for next season by playing eleven a side. What ensued was a tremendous game with end-to-end play, which delighted both sets of supporters. It would have been a travesty if the game had resulted with a result for either team. On Friday evening the boys played an eleven a side friendly game against Methven in what turned out to be a ten goal thriller with play raging end to end The ensuing draw was a fair result for both teams. The boys all enjoyed their end of season celebration in Dundee last Saturday and Barrie and Co. thank all parents and supporters for their support and assistance throughout the season.
