The boys enjoyed their Hot Shot Soccer on Tuesday evening. Arrangements are not complete for next week’s pre season preparations so Iain will advise shortly. A game against a fellow club team is likely.

The players found the transition from seven to eleven a side football very hard and the older and bigger under 15’s were too strong and too experienced to allow the young lads a chance for glory. This Sunday Bridge of Earn visits Seven Acres in the first official match of the new season. Details of arrangements to be advised. Last Sunday was the start of the season and the team did not fare well against the strong going Bridge of Earn and lost heavily. On Tuesday evening they unluckily lost both points to Kintillo but the highlight was a fine hat trick by Scott Ballingall. This Sunday they are on their travels to play Scone Thistle. Iain will advise re arrangements for this game. Next Tuesday evening they follow up with a game against old acquaintances when they visit Fossoway Star

The team came back pointless from Scone but were encouraged with the two fine goals by K Moran. On Tuesday they visited Fossoway at Kinross and despite an improvement are still looking for their first points. Young Scott Ballingall notched another hat trick. This Sunday Langtoun from Auchterarder are the welcome guests to Newhouse Road. It looked for a long time last Sunday that the Tangerines would gain their first point of the season against Langtoun. The team showed a vast improvement on previous weeks only to be cruelly denied when the visitors scored the winning goal with the very last kick of the game deep into injury time. Scott Ballingall notching the goal for the homesters. Tonight, Iain is holding a special coaching session at 6.00p.m. On Sunday, they travel to play Bridge of Earn Kintillo in a league cup fixture. Arrangements will be advised at the coaching session.

A lethargic display against Kintillo resulted in defeat. This Sunday the club welcomes the team from Carnoustie for a Scottish Cup Tie. Kick off is at 2.15p.m. Players meet Newhouse Road at 1.30p.m.

In an evenly matched contest with goals by O Thomson, K Moran and S Ballingall the homesters edged out Carnoustie Panmure in an entertaining Scottish Cup tie last Sunday. Last week at Bridge of Earn the team in flashes showed their Scottish Cup form. This week they have a home league fixture against Kintillo. An exciting encounter in their home game against Kintillo saw the Tangerines gain their first league points of the season. by 8-6. Goals by Kevin Moran (4), Scott Ballingall (3) and Owen Thomson sealed victory. This Sunday takes the team to Auchterarder to play Langtoun in the return league cup fixture. Final arrangements are still to hand but the team seek assistance with regard to transportation. Players please note that due to holidays there is no coaching session next week.

The team were disappointed that their trip up north last week was postponed at the last minute. A hastily arranged friendly with Sidlaw Thistle at Dundee resulted in a moral boosting 4-1 victory. Two goals apiece for Owen Thomson & Scott Ballingall ensured that the team had their first League Cup success of the season when they defeated Langtoun at Auchterarder by 4goals to 1. In their Scottish Cup tie last Sunday, the team were still in the match up until the last fifteen minutes, but on chasing an equaliser conceded three late goals finally going down 5-1 to Hillwood B.C. Scott Ballingall netting for the Tangerines. The club wishes to thank the home team for their hospitality as well as a big thank you to all the supporters who travelled to Glasgow. A solitary Kevin Moran strike near the end was all the team had to show for their hard efforts last Sunday against Scone Thistle, who eventually won through by three goals to one. The players can take heart however as the differential between the teams is narrowing as compared to previous results. This weekend is derby day when the team face their club mates in the white team. A Scott Ballingall hat-trick, a strike by Kevin Moran and a crucial penalty save by keeper Adam Omeish ensured progress in to the next round of the cup against Bridge of Earn Kintillo at Seven Acres last Sunday by four goals to one. On Sunday it is back to league business with an away visit to Blairgowrie to play Athletico Blair. The team got off to the best possible start last Sunday in their league game away to Kintillo. Early goals by Owen Thomson and Andy Campbell put the Tangerines two up in the first 10 minutes. The home side pulled one back later in the first half to trail at half time. Some stout defending and a bit of luck saw Letham hold on to their advantage until the full time whistle. This Sunday the team look forward to their quarterfinal cup-tie away to Scone Thistle. Details for this game will be intimated at tonight’s coaching session, which commences at 6.00p.m at Perth Academy.

Scott Ballingall added a second after the interval but the home side pulled a goal back. A Danny Townsley header ensured the Tangerines deservedly progressed into the semi final. The wind spoiled the prospect of a good game last week. when they travelled to play Gannochy for the first time, in a League encounter. An early goal from the home side and another on the stroke of full time meant that the boys returned with no points to show for their efforts. On Sunday Fossoway Star are the visitors. The team turned in a lack lustre performance to overcome Fossoway last week and only a dramatic last minute goal by Steven Law secured a 3-2 victory. The teams poor form continued last mid week away to Athletico Blair, despite an improvement in the second half, the team were downed by 9 goals to 3. Scott Ballingall with two and Kevin Moran were scant reward as the team leaked goals at the other end. On Sunday, the team got back to winning ways at Fossoway with a much-improved performance. Goals by Kevin Moran (4), Andy Campbell, Owen Thomson and Danny Townsley ensured the three points came back to Perth. The team completed their fixtures last weekend away to Scone Thistle in a league encounter. Both teams contributed to a cracking game on a blistering hot day and the 3-3 score line was a true reflection of the game. Highlight for the Tangerines was a hat trick from Kevin Moran which took his tally for the season to 42 goals in all competitions. Mention also must go to his strike partner Scott Ballingall who finished only 2 goals behind. Players, friends and supporters are reminded that the end of season presentations take place this Sunday at the New Yorker, snooker and pool club, York Place and are asked to meet at the venue for 3.00p.m.

Players, parents and supporters enjoyed the end of season awards presentation at The New Yorker pool and snooker club on Sunday. All the players received trophies for their efforts during the season with additional awards being presented to the following. Top goal scorers-Kevin Moran with 42 goals and Scott Ballingall with 40 goals. The JRS Photo Hardware Trophy –Danny Townsley, Players player of the year- Adam Omeish and Player of the Year- Kevin Barty. The team are now having a short break before preparing for the coming season in the under 15 league. but there will be a coaching session this Tuesday at Seven Acres commencing at 6.30p.m. Overall, the Tangerines improved immensely and over the course of the season managed to defeat every local team in their age group. Highlights being a Scottish Cup run and a cup final appearance.
